Merle Saskia
Merle Saskia, a soprano born in Vienna, studied operatic singing at the Vienna Conservatory, graduating with distinction, and musical theatre at the Performing Arts Studios. Her international operetta and musical engagements have taken her to Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Turkey, Albania, and the Netherlands. Her stage repertoire includes productions such as “My Fair Lady” (F. Loewe), “Evita” (A. L. Webber), “Hello, Dolly!” (J. Herman), “Sweeney Todd” (S. Sondheim), “The Magic Flute” (W. A. Mozart), “The Parasite” (F. Schiller), “The Count of Luxembourg” (F. Lehár), “Le nozze di Figaro”, “Don Giovanni” (both W. A. Mozart), “The Hungarian Wedding” (N. Dostal), “Where the Lark Sings” (F. Lehár), “Rita” (G. Donizetti), “A Flea in Her Ear” (G. Feydeau), “Gasparone” (C. Millöcker), “Papageno’s Dream” (W. A. Mozart), “Minu and Gurmolon” (Armando Ghidoni), “Peter and Paul in Cockaigne” (F. Lehár), “Sissi – The Fateful Years of an Empress” (P. Schleicher), “The Night of the Musicals” (European tour), “Twins – The Revue,” “The Empress” (Leo Fall), “Gigi” (Loewe/Lerner), “Broadway Christmas,” and “Elvis – Viva Las Vegas Show,” among many others. As an actress, Merle Saskia also appeared in the leading role of Marie Heink in “The Concert.” In 2022, she performed as Melanie Galattis in “Der Unbestechliche” at the Congress Theatre Bad Ischl, and in 2024 she will appear in “Der Bauer als Millionär.”
